All about the Cause - Not for profit
From Twitter trolls to championing a cause

How to react to the negative press about cyber
bullying and demonstrate that social media can
actually be used as a force for good. How to
engage the Twitter and Facebook community
as a whole to choose a cause to get behind
and effect change.

We hosted a panel discussion to launch our
#socialgood initiative All about the Cause
during Social Media Week London, at which
Huffington Post Blogs Editor Jody Thompson,
UK vlogger Gemma Tomlinson, DJ Sonny Wharton, actor Lyndon Ogbourne spoke about their experiences
of social media, good and bad, and each championed
a cause close to their heart. The panel was chaired
by journalist Kate Bulkley and the social media
community used #CAUSE2013 to vote for a worthy
cause. A Thunderclap was initiated to raise awareness
of the prevalence of male suicide in the UK and the
charity CALM as a source of more information.

Social media influencers including David Baddiel,
Frank Turner, Robert Halfon MP, Eddie Temple-Morris
and Rob Da Bank retweeted about the cause and the Thunderclap message reached over 650,000 people.
